Edward Wittlinger

Edward Wittlinger is a Senior Programmer/Analyst and Acting Chief of Computer Operations at the City of Cleveland – Department of Public Health for over the last 14-years.  Over the last three-years, he has completely redeveloped the Health Departments website that runs on a Linux infrastructure and is developed with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.  He was very impressed with how the website design matured over time and how most of the content is broadcast and/or accessed through data queries.

Between 1999 and 2001, Mr. Wittlinger was an instructor at the Cuyahoga Community College – Unified Technology Center where he instructed students in Program Logic and Design, Visual Basic 6.0 Introduction, intermediate, and advanced topics that included database connectivity, and a vast array of programming techniques that offered an object oriented approach.

In the year 2001 Ed started a company called Sawmill Software Corporation where he developed two Windows-based software applications called Your Math Buddy – General Math and Measure-Matic – English/Metric that were sold and deployed to private individuals and school systems across the United States and Canada.  The business was in operation until 2014 where Ed and his partners decided to relinquish the business.

Ed currently lives in the Cleveland, Ohio area, and continues to expand his understanding of website development, database design, software engineering, PHP, and networking with both Microsoft and Linux servers.
