Course Description

The U.S. population is becoming more diverse each day. Current estimates show that minorities a close to 40% of the current U.S. population, and have been driving population growth for close to 20 years. This shift in the ethnic and cultural makeup of the U.S. requires a shift in how marketing and communication strategies are conceived and executed. This course is designed for professionals who currently or wish to serve multicultural (diverse) populations. It is designed to provide participants with basic knowledge of multicultural populations and an appreciation for how marketing communication efforts can be tailored in order to successfully reach these groups.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand key demographic characteristics of generational and lifestyle groups.
  • Uncover key insights for multi cultural segments that can be leveraged in marketing efforts
  • Articulate key marketing principles for capturing multi cultural segments
  • Understand the role of general market agencies and multicultural agencies in the advertising space
  • Understand the key steps in crafting effective multicultural and diversity outreach.

Audit option: Students have the option to audit a course they have already attended at no charge within one academic year. Interested students must notify the ProDev office requesting to audit a course a minimum of 10 business days prior to the course start date to ensure there is enough seating. Audit students are responsible for their own parking and lunches. New materials will not be provided.

Corporate, Custom Availability: Can be custom-tailored to the needs of your organization to provide skills your workforce can apply immediately as a corporate training if requested.

Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued if notification is not received seven business days prior to the first day of class. Registrants who cancel will receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee, if we receive written notification a minimum of seven business days prior to the first day of class.
